A Marion County woman, 63-year-old Deborah Ann Brown of Bull Shoals, has been arrested and charged with felony theft of property in connection with allegedly using over $17,000 from a homeowners association for personal use.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed Monday, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint in early May regarding possible misused funds by Brown, who had served as the secretary-treasurer of the Mockingbird Hill Townhomes Homeowners Association. With the complaint was a “sizeable amount of financial records related to the business.”

A review of the financial records allegedly indicates from August 2013 through March, more than 50 transactions by either check or autodraft of approximately $17,433 were used to pay for unauthorized personal expenses by Brown.

Brown is set to appear in Marion County Circuit Court in September.
