AXS TV/Joy FactoryAXS TV’s new series Mixtape debuts September 12, and now we’ve got a sneak peek at the debut episode.
As previously reported, Mixtape, which runs for eight episodes, features rock icons talking about their favorite songs of all time, and sharing their personal playlists of the tunes that shaped their lives and impacted their careers.
The first episode features Foreigner‘s Mick Jones and Kelly Hansen. Among other things, Jones reminisces about hanging out with the Beatles in France in the early ’60s.
In a preview clip, Jones recalls writing Foreigner’s debut single “Feels Like the First Time,” which reached number four on the Billboard Hot 100.
“I was in New York…and I was sorta high and dry and I thought, ‘Should I go back to England? Maybe I took the wrong turn,’ y’know?” he says. “And then, as corny as it may sound, I wrote a song called ‘Feels Like the First Time’ because what I was doing did feel like the first time!”
In the preview clip, Mick and Hansen perform a brief acoustic version of the signature tune.
Mixtape debuts September 12 at 8:30 p.m. ET on AXS TV.
