A female passenger on a motorcycle was shoved off the fleeing vehicle and into the path of a Fulton County Sheriff’s patrol unit during a chase on U.S. Highway 62\412.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Fulton County authorities were alerted to a possible stolen motorcycle driven by 28-year-old Spencer Langston with a female passenger on Aug. 20. Langston’s address was not provided in online court records.
A sheriff’s deputy spotted the vehicle, observed it did not have a license plate and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.
With the motorcycle traveling at approximately 30 miles per hour, Langston is alleged to have turned and shoved his passenger from the back and into the path of the deputy’s car. The deputy had to swerve to avoid striking the female, whom he observed walk away from the scene.
Langston then reportedly accelerated and threw a black bag toward the patrol unit.
The deputy continued his pursuit, with Langston driving through a school zone and around traffic at speeds approaching 90 miles per hour.
The deputy caught up with Langston after he ditched the bike. While Langston initially started to flee on foot, he complied with commands.
As the deputy cuffed him, he reportedly began cursing and threatening, saying when he was released from prison, he would find the deputy and his family.
When an ambulance responded to the scene, Langston allegedly said he had recently used methamphetamine.
A pistol was recovered from the bag he threw at the deputy’s patrol unit.
Langston has been charged with felony counts of fleeing, aggravated assault, terroristic threatening and possession of firearms by certain persons, meaning he is a convicted felon. He also faces four misdemeanor counts and a traffic violation.
His bond was set at $20,000.
