A Gassville teen is facing multiple felonies for his alleged involvement with an underage girl. Eighteen-year-old Terry Lee Wilkinson was arrested Wednesday after he reportedly admitted to sexual contact with the victim and numerous photos of the victim were found on his phone.
According to the probable cause affidavit in the case filed Tuesday, Flippin Police interviewed the victim who said she met Wilkinson about one year ago, and they started communicating through text and Snapchat. She says the conversations became sexual in nature, and videos and pictures were exchanged. She told investigators, on one occasion, sexual contact had occurred when the suspect touched her.
During the initial interview with police, Wilkinson denied any sexual contact had occurred between the two, but did show police photos of the victim on his phone and said he would “take full responsibility for his actions.” He said the victim had told him she was 18, and he had recently found out she was under age and “wanted to make it right with her parents.”
During a second interview, after being advised by investigators that text messages between the two clearly stated sexual contact had occurred, Wilkinson did allegedly admit to the crime. He also told police he found out about two months prior to the sexual contact how old the victim actually was.
Wilkinson has been charged with felony counts of sexual assault in the second degree; sexual indecency with a child; and distributing, possessing or viewing of matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child. His bond is set at $50,000.
