
With Saturday marking the end of the Baxter County Fair, the midway will be open for longer hours than the four previous days. The carnival will be open from noon until the time the fair closes.
Gregg Farm Services will sponsor the lawn mower and tiller races Saturday at 6 p.m. in the Mountain Home Saddle Club Arena. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for kids ages 6 and older and free for kids 5 and under. To compete, the entry fee is $20. The day will begin with a number of kids’ activities. The Home Depot will hold a kids’ workshop starting at 10 a.m. on the outdoor stage. The livestock show arena will house the stick horse rodeo, relay races and treasure hunt from 10:30 until 12:30.
The Baxter County 4-H poultry hen sale will start at 12:30 in the poultry and rabbit barn. In the livestock show arena, The parade of champions begins at 1, and the junior livestock sponsorship awards presentation starts a half hour later. The livestock will be released from the livestock barn starting at 3 and excluding rabbits and poultry.
The chainsaw contest will also be held in the livestock show arena beginning at 4 p.m. The entry fee is $3, and contestants must be residents of Baxter County.
Two more events will be held on the outdoor stage during the evening hours. The pageant and baby contest winners will be presented at 6:30. The Melodikats will follow with the final performance of the fair from 7 until 9.
