Courtesy of Eagle Rock Entertainment/ AXS TVThe latest episode of the AXS TV series Brian Johnson’s A Life on the Road features the AC/DC frontman interviewing another legendary rock singer, Led Zeppelin‘s Robert Plant.

The show, which premieres this Sunday, September 22, at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, Johnson and Plant chat while exploring castle ruins in the northern Wales, U.K., an area that Robert began visiting during Led Zeppelin’s heyday to get away from the pressures of touring.

During the episode, Plant shares stories about his old band’s formation and early days, his love of American blues and roots music, and his solo career.

In a preview clip from the show, Plant talks about the music that inspired Led Zeppelin and the era from which the band emerged.

“I suppose Cream, The Grateful Dead, the white blues thing was kicking in,” he recalls. “And, yeah, that great West Coast thing going on with Jefferson Airplane and stuff. Yeah, a subculture did develop, and we kind of attached ourselves to that.

Plant adds, “We didn’t have any social statements to make. We weren’t, you know, visionaries in that sense, but we were still, by our age at the time…part of that huge movement of energy.”

Later in the preview, Johnson reflects on how quickly Led Zeppelin’s music influenced rock fans and musicians.

“It just took off like a rocket,” says Brian. “I think every kid in Newcastle [U.K.], where I was, wanted to play those riffs.”

Johnson then notes that “singing a Zeppelin song was tougher. And that’s where I was lucky. I could actually [do] ‘high-octave singing.'”

The clip ends with Plant quipping to Johnson, “If you want a job now, I can put…in a good word for you.”
