Mountain Home Police have arrested a Fulton County man, 36-year-old Travis Armistead, on drug-related charges, with his 4-year-old son in the vehicle.
According to the probable cause affidavit, police observed Armistead driving on South College Street Thursday evening.
A check with the Arkansas Crime Information Center database confirmed Armistead’s driver’s license was suspended for DWI.
Following a traffic stop at the intersection of East Ninth and College streets, the child was observed in the rear seat of the vehicle.
Armistead reportedly refused multiple times to exit the vehicle at the request of law enforcement.
He was then assisted from the vehicle and an inventory conducted, allegedly leading to the discovery of an unopened Suboxone package, a clear liquid consistent with methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Armistead has been charged with felony counts of possession of controlled substances, methamphetamine and Suboxone. He is also facing felony and misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, driving DWI on suspended license and obstructing governmental operations.
His bond was set at $10,000.
