A member of the Mountain Home City Council has announced her candidacy for Arkansas state representative for District 100. Paige Dillard Evans will challenge current State Representative Nelda Speaks in the Republican primary March 3. Speaks announced her reelection bid last month.
Evans represents Ward 3 on the Mountain Home City Council. She is a Mountain Home High School graduate and attended Harding University and Arkansas State University-Mountain Home. She has been a regional representative for the American Cancer Society, served as Marion County Hometown Health Coalition Tobacco-Free coordinator and has been a small business owner for over 15 years.
Evans says, “I’ve called Baxter County my home for 23 years. Growing up here gives me a unique perspective.”
Evans has two grown sons.
District 100 covers a large portion of Baxter County.
