
Another local minor earthquake has been reported Saturday morning by the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake, located near Missouri Highway 101 and the Ozark/Howell county line between Bakersfield and Caulfield, was Magnitude 2.4 on the Richter Scale.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located nearly 3.7 miles north-northeast of Bakersfield, 16.8 miles east of Gainesville, 18.3 miles southwest of West Plains, 22 miles northeast of Mountain Home and 59.8 miles east-northeast of Harrison. The quake occurred at 11 a.m.
Magnitude 2.4 earthquakes are felt slightly by some people. No damage is caused to buildings.
On Sept. 12, a minor earthquake was recorded on the south end of the Baxter/Marion county line. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was Magnitude 3.7 on the Richter Scale.
