
The Mountain Home High School girls’ golf team ended up finishing third Tuesday in the Class 5A State Tournament. The Lady Bombers ended up with a team total of 258 at Paragould Country Club. Hot Springs Lakeside won the title at 216, and Greenwood finished second at 249.
Sydney Czanstkowski was Mountain Home’s top golfer, as she shot a 77 to take home All-State honors. Lakeside’s Maggie Huett was the medalist with a 64.
Melbourne’s girls finished the season in Horseshoe Bend with their third consecutive state championship. According to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, the Lady Bearkatz had a team total of 325 to top the Class 2A State Tournament at the Golf Course on Turkey Mountain. Salem took sixth place at 367.
Addie Harris led Melbourne with an All-State selection, as she finished third with a 100. Katelyn Ross of Eureka Springs was the medalist with a 93. Flippin’s Madelyn Lindsey earned all-state honors by finishing tied for 7th with a 105.
The Class 1A State Girls’ Golf Tournament was held at Mountain Ranch Golf Course. Lead Hill came up short of defending their title, as they finished third at 350. Greers Ferry West Side won the tournament at 296, and Trinity Christian was second at 339. Jasper ended up in ninth place at 435.
Kaya Huebner of Lead Hill was the top area golfer, as she shot a 106. Kendra Harness of West Side was named the medalist with a 98.
