A Marion County woman, 28-year-old Amber McQueen of Flippin, also known as Amber Elliott, has been arrested and charged with a felony count of second-degree forgery.

Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell says McQueen is charged in connection with a check reported stolen out of St. Joe. Cassell says his office was contacted in July regarding a forged check stolen from a home in St. Joe. The victim told law enforcement the check was taken from either his office or his bedroom without his permission and forged in his name in the amount of $7,000.The forged check was written on a bank in Marshall and allegedly given by McQueen to a law firm.

During the course of the investigation, local authorities learned McQueen has active warrants out of Boone County and has a criminal history that includes failure to appear.

Sheriff Cassell says McQueen was arrested Sept. 20 and transported to the Searcy County Detention Center in Marshall. She appeared in Searcy County Circuit Court Sept.24 , where her bond was set at $7,500.
