A family was rescued Sunday night after being swept off a low-water crossing in Boone County. According to KYTV/KSPR, officials from the Boone County Office of Emergency Management say multiple agencies were involved in a swift water rescue in Alpena.

The family, whose names were not released, was reportedly swept off the crossing off Cemetery Road near Dunkard Road. Personnel from the Boone County Office of Emergency Management, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office and the Harrison and Alpena fire departments were on the scene and rescued two adults and two children ages 4 and 2. All are expected to be okay.

Boone County leaders are checking out low-water crossings throughout the county and blocking them, if they are determined to be unsafe.
