The Donald W. Reynolds Library Serving Baxter County will welcome George Jared, author of “Whispers in the Willows,” Wednesday afternoon at 2. Jared’s book includes the story of 22-year-old college student Rebekah Gould, who vanished from a friend’s house near Melbourne. Gould, who was from Mountain View, was found dead on Sept. 27, 2004 in a wooded area off of State Highway 9, seven days after she was reported missing.

Jared’s visit is part of the library’s Read | Write | Ignite at the Hearthside Literary Series.

“Whispers in the Willows” is an anthology style, true crime book that chronicles three unsolved murders, a series of death row executions, and tells the harrowing stories of two Holocaust survivors.

No registration is required for the presentation. Jared will hold his event at the Hearthside. The event can be watched on Facebook Live through the Donald W. Reynolds Library Serving Baxter County’s Facebook page.
