The postseason began Wednesday for high school softball in Missouri, and three area teams began district play.
Gainesville watched its season come to an end in the Class 2, District 11 Tournament at Ava. The game went to nine innings, but the Lady Bulldogs were edged out by Seymour 11-10. Gainesville’s final record is 3-20.
West Plains’ opener in the Class 3, District 11 Tournament at Reeds Spring also went to extra innings. The Lady Zizzers squeaked by Marshfield 8-7 in 15 innings. West Plains improves to 16-11 on the year.
Branson was eliminated from the Class 4, District 10 Tournament at Glendale High School in Springfield. The Lady Pirates fell to the host Lady Falcons. Branson’s season ends with a mark of 11-15.
