MH to continue league play at Sylvan Hills

High school football makes up most of the Friday schedule, as Mountain Home will be back on the road. The Bombers’ next stop will be in Sherwood as they meet Sylvan Hills.
Mountain Home is 0-7 on the season and 0-4 in the 6A-East. The Bombers are coming off a homecoming loss to Marion. Sylvan Hills is 3-4 and 2-2. The Bears picked up a 25-point victory over Jacksonville last week.

Mountain Home head coach Bryan Mattox says the team will need a full effort from everyone to get the win on the road.

Kickoff at Bill Blackwood Field is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday’s game can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com. Coverage begins around 5:30, with Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas High School Gameday.

Elsewhere in the 6A-East, Searcy hosts Jonesboro, Jacksonville travels to West Memphis, and Pine Bluff makes the trip to Marion.

Yellville-Summit will have the first of two consecutive road trips this week. The Panthers will be in Newark as they take on Cedar Ridge.

Yellville-Summit is 0-7 on the year and 0-3 in the 3A-2. The Panthers lost their homecoming game to Clinton a week ago. Cedar Ridge is 1-6 and 0-4. The Timberwolves are coming off a 15-point loss to Rose Bud.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Also in the 3A-2, Melbourne heads to Mountain View, Marshall travels to Searcy to face Harding Academy, and Clinton entertains Rose Bud.

Elsewhere on the local Arkansas schedule, Salem is home against McCrory, and Harrison hosts Alma. The Goblins are ranked fifth in the state overall and second in Class 5A by the Arkansas Sports Media.

This is the last week of the regular season in Missouri. Among area schools, West Plains entertains Springfield Glendale, Hollister is home against Mount Vernon, Forsyth hosts Buffalo, Branson makes the trip to Willard, Ava heads to Willow Springs, Mountain View-Liberty entertains Houston, and Thayer travels to Mountain Grove.
