The Mountain Home High School volleyball team started the Class 5A State Tournament in Hot Springs with a straight set win. The Lady Bombers eliminated Russellville from the tournament with scores of 25-22, 25-12 and 25-18.
Charlie Pierce led Mountain Home with 20 kills and three blocks, Claudia Carter had 10 kills and four blocks, Anna Grace Foreman finished with nine kills and seven blocks, Elaine Blackmon recorded 22 digs, Leah Jackson dished out 38 assists and had 10 digs, and Grace Beckham added 10 digs.
Mountain Home improves to 16-4 on the season, and they’ll meet Benton Wednesday evening in the quarterfinals.
