MH, Cotter volleyball teams to play in state quarterfinals

High school volleyball is scheduled for Wednesday, as two local teams continue state tournament play.

Mountain Home is in Hot Springs for its quarterfinal match in the Class 5A State Tournament. The Lady Bombers will be paired with Benton.

Mountain Home is 16-4 on the season, after beating Russellville in straight sets. The Lady Bombers are the second-seeded team from the East.

Benton is the top-seeded team from the South. The Lady Panthers’ first round match was a straight set victory over Maumelle.

Action at Bank OZK Arena is scheduled for 5 p.m.

The Class 2A State Tournament continues with the quarterfinal round at the Yellville-Summit Multi-Purpose Facility.

Cotter will again have the first match of the day. The Lady Warriors take the court at 1 p.m., as they meet St. Joseph from Conway.

In the later matches, Conway Christian faces Hackett at 3, Cutter-Morning Star takes on Lavaca at 5, and Alpena will play Crowley’s Ridge Academy at 7.
