Race develops for BC Quorum Court

A race for a seat on the Baxter County Quorum Court has developed, with 14 candidates having filed for offices across the county as of Tuesday.

A race for the District 8 seat on the quorum court developed with the filing of Roger Steele on Tuesday. On Monday, Reginald Zachary Watson filed for the seat now held by Edna Fusco.

Also filing for the Baxter County Quorum Court are Dennis Frank for the District 1 seat now held by Gary Smith; incumbent Robert Lowery for District 3; incumbent Maryanne Edge for District 5; incumbent Rhonda “Tink” Albright for District 6; incumbent Charles Osgood for District 7; and incumbent Cameron Davis for District 9.

Other filings include incumbent David Witherington for District 1 constable; Jim Eberley for the District 5 constable; and incumbent Frankie Baker for District 11 constable.

Filing for school boards were Bill Wehmeyer, Mountain Home Position 5; Jason Schmeski, Mountain Home Position 7; and Shannon Moody, Norfork.

In Marion County, four filings have been reported, all incumbents on the quorum court. Michael Scrima filed for District 1; Marty Nickels for District 2; Raymond Mayo for District 5; and Claudia Gibson Brigham for Distinct 8.
