Joining Walsh at the show will be ZZ Top, The Doobie Brothers, Sheryl Crow, country star Brad Paisley and Americana act Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit. The concert will start at 5:30 p.m. local time.
Walsh tells People magazine that fans who attend the event will be treated to surprise appearances by at least two famous guest artists.
“I’ve got to keep them under wraps! But yeah, there’s a couple…old boys,” Joe reveals. “You never know who’s going to show up, but I’m aware of a couple of surprises that are going to make a big difference to the crowd.”
As for how he feels about the artists taking part in VetsAid, Walsh says, “A lot of people were able to rearrange their schedules so that they could make this show, and I’m really grateful.”
Tickets for VetsAid 2019 are on sale now, and are available at the Toyota Center box office, at ToyotaCenter.com or by calling 1-866-4-HOUTIX.
Through a vetting process in coordination with the National Association of Veterans Serving Organizations, VetsAid recently chose 18 veterans charities to which it will distribute the proceeds from this year’s show. Eight will receive large grants and 10 will get small grants. The first two VetsAid concerts brought in a total of $1.2 million.
Meanwhile, as previously reported, Walsh will serve as Grand Marshal of the “Houston Salutes American Heroes Veterans Day Celebration” on Monday, November 11. He also will deliver a keynote speech at the event, which will include a parade through the streets of Houston.
