The deaths of two elderly individuals found at a Mountain Home residence last week are believed to be the result of a murder-suicide. According to Mountain Home Police Chief Carry Manuel, the bodies of 80-year-old Larry Skeen and 75-year-old Sharon Skeen were located last Tuesday afternoon.

Chief Manuel says information located on a note attached to the back door of the residence directed Mountain Home officers to additional information inside the residence. Officers found packages of information containing delivery instructions and their final wishes. One package was reportedly addressed to the Skeens’ attorney.

Chief Manuel says it’s believed one or both were experiencing health issues, and their deaths were prearranged between them.

According to the preliminary autopsy information from the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory in Little Rock, Sharon Skeen’s cause of death is a gunshot wound to her head and another to her neck, and the manner of her death was ruled a homicide. Larry Skeen’s death was ruled a suicide with one gunshot wound to his head.

Investigators will continue working to finalize their investigation.
