A Marion County man, 34-year-old Wesley Hickerson of Summit, has been sentenced to 54 months in the Arkansas Department of Correction following a jury trial last week.

Online court records indicate Hickerson was found guilty of felony domestic battery, following an incident in April that began when he sprayed bug spray in his mother’s face.

According to the probable cause affidavit, a Marion County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a residence along Green Tree Lane in Summit regarding a previous domestic incident.

At the residence, Hickerson’s mother told the deputy her son “burst” through the front door of her residence and sprayed her. He then grabbed her arm causing a blood vessel to burst.

Hickerson was located on Oak Street and taken into custody.

Hickerson received a 36-month prison sentence in 2016 on a charge of aggravated assault on a corrections/law enforcement officer. No details on the charge are available in online court records.
