
With one month left of the year, 2019 has entered the top five for wettest years recorded for Mountain Home. According to KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot, the official reporting stations for the National Weather Service in the city, 2019 became the third-wettest year on record with 69.39 inches of precipitation as of Nov. 30 at 7 a.m. The wettest year in history was in 1927 when 74.54 inches of rain fell, which means we are still 5.15 inches away from the number one spot.
The previous month became the seventh wettest November recorded in Mountain Home with 8.26 inches of rainfall. The precipitation for the month was 2.95 inches above the normal monthly rainfall of 5.31 inches.
On Nov. 12, a record low was set, and freezing precipitation was also recorded for the first time on that day. The low of 13 degrees broke the previous record of 17 set in 1921. One quarter of an inch of snow was also recorded. The rain, sleet and snow, when melted down, totaled .49 of an inch of liquid precipitation.
There were no record highs set for November. The highest temperature was 73 degrees recorded on Nov. 11.
