A renowned entertainer and concert pianist set to make an appearance in the Twin Lakes Area Sunday is making Christmas headlines in Missouri.Dino Kartsonakis is scheduled to present the Christmas Hymn Sing with Dino Sunday evening at 6 at Twin Lakes Baptist Church.

Meanwhile, America’s Piano Showman is making headlines in Missouri with the announcement he will auction his signature jeweled keyboard piano and donate the proceeds to the Springfield and Branson Salvation Army.

Kartsonakis has chosen to support The Salvation Army due to his personal experience with the organization.

He says he was 5 years old when he was given his first Christmas toy from The Salvation Army in New York City.

He says when his parents crossed over to the United States from Greece on to Ellis Island they were, needless to say, without finances. The Salvation Army made provision to give the family food and his first Christmas Toy.

Kartsonakis says he will always be grateful to The Salvation Army for being such a caring organization, spreading goodwill to thousands of families during the Christmas holiday season. He says the donation of the jeweled piano is his gift of appreciation for such an amazing organization.

The Salvation Army will use the proceeds to assist thousands of children and families through their Christmas Assistance Program. Each year the Salvation Army hosts its Toy Shop, where families have signed up to receive assistance for the Christmas season.

Admission to the Sunday performance at Twin Lakes Baptist Church, located on U.S. Highway 62 West, is free. It’s a gift from the church to the community.
