A national day of honoring military veterans buried in cemeteries across the country is scheduled for this weekend. As part of Wreaths Across America, a local group will be laying wreaths on veterans’ graves Saturday at Baxter Memorial Gardens, Mountain Home Cemetery and Kirby’s Tucker Memorial Cemetery.

Heather Duggins of Bouquet Palace says this will be the second year for Wreaths Across America to be observed locally.

The local event begins at noon Saturday with a ceremony at the Mountain Home Plaza 2000. From there, volunteers will go to the cemeteries with the wreaths sponsored and paid for and lay them at the gravesites.

Duggins says since this event began in Mountain Home, there has been an outpouring of support from the community.
