
It was a busy night for area high school basketball teams Tuesday.
In boys’ action:
-Flippin ran past Cotter 70-49. The Bobcats improve to 16-6 while the Warriors fall to 5-16.
-Norfork defeated Omaha 59-42 to move its record to 13-8. The Eagles fall to 10-7.
-Yellville-Summit lost to Deer 74-41. The Panthers are now 9-4.
-Gainesville lost to Thayer 62-43.
-Dora scored 36 first quarter points and blasted Alton 87-56.
-Calico Rock downed St. Joe 68-49. The Pirates are now 5-14 while the Wildcats fall to 3-15.
-Izard County blew past Sloan-Hendrix 62-45 to up its record to 20-5. Justus Cooper scored 16 points, Caleb Faulkner had 15 and Coby Everett had 13.
-Salem lost to Rector 56-49. The Greyhounds are now 5-6.
-Lead Hill was a 72-52 winner over Bruno-Pyatt. The Patriots fall to 5-14 while the Tigers improve to 10-13.
-Mammoth Spring fell to Hillcrest 66-43. Alex Mero scored 16 for the Bears who fall to 11-9.
-Valley Springs is now 20-2 after topping Mountain View 73-41. The Yellowjackets are 7-7.
-Bergman downed Clinton 66-45 to improve to 21-4 on the season.
In girls’ action:
-Cotter defeated Flippin 61-49. Kate Cheek and Kaylee Crownover each pumped in 23 points for the Lady Warriors who improve to 10-9. The Lady Bobcats fall to 9-11.
-Norfork walloped Omaha 63-30 to up its record to 13-8. The Lady Eagles are now 3-14.
-Izard County held off Sloan-Hendrix to improve to 13-8 on the season. Cassidy Coleman led the attack with 27 points, and Allison Newman scored 10. Izard County won the junior girls’ contest 42-25 to move its record to 13-2. Ava Lewis led the way with 17 points and Quinn Johnson added 10.
-Salem fell at Rector 47-31. The Lady Greyhounds are now 6-4.
-Mammoth Spring defeated Hillcrest 46-39 and is now 15-4. Megyn Upton scored 15 points, and Terra Godwin had 14 for the Lady Bears.
-Lead Hill downed Bruno-Pyatt 71-48. The Lady Tigers improve to 16-8 while the Lady Patriots are now 7-10.
-Mountain View won a battle of state ranked teams with a 49-42 win over Valley Springs. The Lady Yellowjackets are now 13-1 while the Lady Tigers fall to 19-4.
-Bergman squeaked by Clinton 57-56 to improve to 20-6.
