
Paramount PicturesAfter coming away with a couple of Golden Globe awards this past Sunday, Rocketman has now been nominated for another prestigious honor. The Elton John biopic will compete for the Outstanding Film — Wide Release prize at the 31st Annual GLAAD Media Awards, handed out by GLAAD, the world’s largest LGBTQ media advocacy organization.
Competing against Rocketman will be Bombshell, Booksmart, Downton Abbey and Judy.
Also in the running for GLAAD Awards this year are Melissa Etheridge and frequent Queen collaborator Adam Lambert, who have been nominated for the Outstanding Music Artist honor for their respective albums The Medicine Show and Velvet: Side A.
The GLAAD Media Awards salute fair, accurate and inclusive representations of LGBTQ people and issues across TV, movies, stage productions, journalism, kids’ programs, comics, video games and reality shows. The awards will be presented in New York City on March 19 and in Los Angeles on April 16.
