MHCA gets 2 wins over Lighthouse Christian

Mountain Home Christian Academy came away with two wins playing three games against Lighthouse Christian Friday in Springfield.
The Eagles grabbed the 53-49 victory in the varsity boys’ game. Caleb Spray led Mountain Home Christian with 20 points, and Trenton Cox added 19.
Mountain Home Christian’s varsity girls did not have as good of a night, as they fell to Lighthouse Christian 44-33. The Lady Eagles were led by Naomi Spray with 13 points.
The night began with the 14-and-under boys’ game, as Mountain Home Christian topped Lighthouse Christian 58-41. Gabe Spray was the 14-and-under Eagles’ leading scorer with 18 points, Jordan Woods had 15, and Riley Peglar added 12.

The Cotter High School basketball team suffered a sweep at Eureka Springs. The Warriors fell to the Highlanders 39-36 in the boys’ game. The night wasn’t any better for Cotter’s girls, as they lost to Eureka Springs 55-42.

Norfork ended up splitting its high school games at Western Grove. The Lady Panthers defeated the Lady Warriors 60-43. Norfork did not fare as well on the boys’ side losing to Western Grove 61-47.

Flippin was able to dominated Decatur at home. The mercy was invoked in the girls’ game, as the Lady Bobcats destroyed the Lady Bulldogs 66-28. Flippin also had its way in the boys’ game picking up the 53-28 decision over Decatur.

Yellville-Summit ended up with mixed results, as they hosted Marshall. The Panthers won the boys’ game over the Bobcats 50-40. It was a different result in the girls’ contest, as Yellville-Summit fell to Marshall 51-21.

Bruno-Pyatt had a rough night being swept in three games at home by Izard County.
The Patriots lost to the Cougars in the senior boys’ game 69-41. Caleb Faulkner was Izard County’s top scorer with 20 points. Izard County improves to 23-5 on the season and 12-0 in the 1A-2.
Bruno-Pyatt also fell to Izard County 46-22 in the senior girls’ contest. Abbi Marlin paced the Lady Cougars with 15 points, and Cassidy Coleman added 11. Izard County’s record is now 14-11.
The evening began with the junior girls’ game as Bruno-Pyatt lost to Izard County 49-19. The Junior Lady Cougars were led by Ava Lewis with 12 points. Izard County ups its record to 15-4.

Gainesville’s boys also had a tough home outing on Friday. The Bulldogs fell to Dora 73-55.

The Viola boys ended up having a successful road trip. The Longhorns topped St. Joe 76-45.

Melbourne’s girls had another good night in front of its home crowd. The Lady Bearkatz beat Marmaduke 56-41.

Timbo’s high school teams ended up getting swept at Shirley. The Tigers fell to the Blue Devils 74-47 in the boys’ game. Timbo also lost the girls’ contest to Shirley 72-25.

Mountain View left Bergman with mixed results. The Lady Yellowjackets squeaked by the Lady Panthers 38-36. The Mountain View boys were not as fortunate, as they fell to Bergman 56-45.

Lead Hill’s girls dominated a battle between Lady Tigers at Green Forest. The mercy rule was put in effect, as Lead Hill routed Green Forest 52-22.
