Gassville residents will see increases on utility bills

The City of Gassville like many other municipalities is not immune to financial challenges primarily driven by increased costs for employee healthcare, retirement benefits and the minimum wage.To compensate for these increases, the city council has approved returning to utilizing franchise fees, a practice discontinued during the 1990s following the passage of the county sales tax.

Mayor Jeff Braim says collection of the franchise fees will begin this month.
