COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) – State officials say a suspect in a Columbia killing died while in prison. The state Department of Corrections says 28-year-old Michael Anderson, of Columbia, died Thursday at the state prison in Licking. Spokeswoman Karen Pojmann says Anderson had a medical condition but an autopsy will determine his cause of death. The Columbia Daily Tribune reports Anderson was charged with second-degree murder and weapons charges in the death of 19-year-old E’quan Spain in September. Investigators say Anderson, Spain and a third man were in a car shooting at another vehicle when Spain was hit by a bullet from inside the car.
