Three local quiz bowl teams have advanced to state-level competition based on the outcome at the AGOBA 1A Northcentral/NE junior high regional hosted by Calico Rock High School last month. The state-level competition is set for Saturday at the University of Arkansas Community College–Morrilton.Six teams took part in the regional competition. Based on the outcome of a five-game round robin, Norfork (5-0), Calico Rock (4-1) and Izard County Consolidated (3-2) will advance to the state-level competition.
In addition, six students were named to the all tournament team. Those students are Billy Branscum, MVP, Norfork; Allison Humphries, Calico Rock; Audric Browning, Calico Rock; Allen Densford, Norfork; Jesse Maple, ICC; and Jackson Welch, Armorel.
