The Prince Estate/Legacy RecordingsThe Prince Estate’s ongoing reissue series continues  April 17 with a variety of archival studio and live releases dating from the early 2000s that can be pre-ordered now.

They include two studio albums — 2001’s The Rainbow Children and 2002’s One Nite Alone… — as well as the first official live albums to be released from the tour Prince mounted between those studio projects.

The Rainbow Children, which was released commercially in November 2001, is a concept album set in a metaphoric utopian world featuring songs boasting themes like spirituality, sexuality, love and social consciousness.

One Nite Alone… was released in May 2002, and features the music icon mainly accompanying himself on piano. The album, which includes a cover of Joni Mitchell‘s “A Case of You,” initially was available exclusively as a gift to members of Prince’s NPG Music Club, either separately or as part of the limited-edition One Nite Alone… Live! box set.

That box set is among the other Prince titles arriving April 17. It features performances from nine shows that Prince played in March and April of 2002 with his New Power Generation band. One Nite Alone… Live! will be issued on vinyl for the first time, as a four-LP, purple-vinyl set.

Also coming on April 17 is One Nite Alone: The Aftershow…It Ain’t Over!, featuring highlights from three late-night aftershow performances Prince gave during that same tour. Originally released on CD as part of the One Nite Alone… Live! box set, it now will be available as a standalone two-LP, purple-vinyl set.

The last release is a deluxe five-disc collection titled Up All Nite with Prince: The One Nite Alone Collection that features the aforementioned live albums, plus the Prince Live at The Aladdin Las Vegas DVD.
