A protest planned for Friday afternoon in Yellville failed to materialize. Marion County Judge John Massey says a couple of individuals arrived at the courthouse square, but there were no marches or speeches given.

Judge Massey had announced the closure of the courthouse and other county offices for 12:30 with the protest set to begin at 1. Offices will resume regular hours Monday at 8 a.m.

Another protest is scheduled to be underway in Harrison. Mayor Jerry Jackson says protestors were set to organize on the parking lot of the old Harrison Junior High School at 4.

Currently, Baxter County officials have not been notified of any protests in Mountain Home.
