Guidelines have been established for the Mountain Home High School Career Academies (MHHSCA) graduation ceremony. The event will be held Friday night, July 17, at 8 at Bomber Stadium.

School officials say after surveying the seniors, an overwhelming number requested to have the most traditional graduation ceremony as possible. The school put together a plan, which has been approved by the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). The plan allows graduates and families a memorable experience while also meeting the state guidelines for large venues and social distancing. Large venue guidelines only allow for a 66% occupancy rate in Bomber Stadium. The school says if guidelines from the Arkansas Department of Health or DESE change, the district will be required to update its plan.

Some of the highlights of the plan include:
-Each graduate will be allowed six guests who will sit together and must enter together.
-Guests and graduates are encouraged to arrive in the same vehicle or no more than two vehicles.
-All graduates and guests (excluding children under the age of 10) must bring their own masks and must wear them at all times while on campus. No one over the age of 10 will be allowed to enter Bomber Stadium without a mask.
-Graduates and guests will be allowed to bring bottled water into the ceremony.
-Chairs on the field are not allowed to be moved, as they will be spaced out in accordance with social distancing guidelines.
-Graduates will not shake hands with school officials but will pose for a photograph as they cross the stage. Masks may be removed only while the graduate is on the stage.

In the event of rain, MHHSCA will host the ceremony on Saturday, July 18, at 8 p.m.
