Gainesville R-V School District Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Hyatt presided over his final school board meeting June 25, just days before his retirement began Tuesday. Board members brought a cake and refreshments to help him celebrate the occasion.

Dr. Hyatt tells the Ozark County Times, “I’m still going to be a part of the community,” Hyatt says. “I’ll be around.” He said his retirement plans include continuing his work on the White River Valley Electric Cooperative board, enjoying some travel with his wife, Shelby, and teaching drivers’ education during Gainesville’s summer school session.
