Arkansas’s coronavirus cases continue to rise, but hospitalizations were down on Wednesday. The Arkansas Department of Health is reporting 1,293 new cases for a total of 115,812, and 642 patients are hospitalized for a decline of 25 from Tuesday.

The health department is also reporting 23 additional deaths for a total of 2,026. There are 10,010 cases still active with 96,433 recoveries.

Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson said in a statement, “Compared to last Wednesday (961), our case numbers have increased. Let’s work to break the cycle of really high numbers in the middle of the week. If we continue on this trend, our hospitals will be challenged. Each one of us must do our part to help our community and state overcome this virus.”
