Basketball makes up the local Tuesday sports schedule, as another season gets underway for the Mountain Home High School boys. The Bombers will be in Paragould, as they open the 2020-2021 campaign with Greene County Tech.

Mountain Home is coming off a season in which it finished with a record of 15-12. The Bombers ended up tied for fifth in the 5A-East.

This season will look different in two ways for Mountain Home. The Bombers will not play in any in-season tournaments due to a prohibition by the Arkansas Activities Association, and the team will move into the 5A-West for at least a two-year cycle.

This will also be the opener for Tech. The Golden Eagles, a former conference foe for Mountain Home, are coming off a 23-7 season in which they finished tied for third in the league and later advanced to the state quarterfinals.

The junior varsity game tips off at 5 p.m. The varsity contest gets underway at 6 and can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and ktlo.com.

Also on the high school level, Norfork hosts Shirley, Flippin entertains Conway Christian for two boys’ games, Ozark Mountain travels to Deer, Viola is home for three girls’ games with Mammoth Spring, Salem hosts Southside Batesville for three boys’ contests, Melbourne entertains Vilonia, Marshall makes the trip to Green Forest, Timbo is home against Concord, Mountain View heads to Tuckerman, Bergman hosts Pangburn, Valley Springs travels to Quitman, and Omaha makes the trip to Mount Judea.

In junior high basketball, Yellville-Summit heads to Harrison, and Jasper travels to Alpena.
