
Basketball makes up much of the local Thursday schedule, as the Mountain Home High School boys will have their second of three straight road trips. The Bombers will be in Springdale to meet Har-Ber.
Mountain Home is 3-2 on the season. The Bombers extended their winning streak to three games on Tuesday with a 15-point victory at Paragould. Har-Ber has a record of 3-1. The Wildcats suffered their first loss of the season two nights ago at Ozark, Missouri.
The junior varsity game tips off at 5 p.m. at Wildcat Arena. The varsity contest begins around 6 and can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.
Gainesville’s boys will compete in the semifinals of the Mansfield Invitational Basketball Tournament. The Bulldogs face Norwood at 7:30.
Elsewhere on the high school level, Cotter hosts Lead Hill, Flippin travels to Green Forest, Izard County entertains Mammoth Spring, and Rural Special makes the trip to Valley Springs.
The Mountain Home freshmen boys’ teams will be on the road, as they go up against Marion. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
In other junior high basketball, Yellville-Summit heads to Viola, Ozark Mountain travels to Bergman, Marshall is home against Mountain View, and Jasper hosts Alpena.
