
Norfork came away with one win Wednesday hosting Izard County for three basketball games in the Bobby D. Hulse Gymnasium.
The Lady Panthers had the lone victory in the senior girls’ game. Norfork defeated the Lady Cougars 44-28.
Norfork did not fare as well in the senior boys’ contest, as they fell to Izard County 64-24. Caleb Faulkner led the Cougars with 13 points, Chase Orf scored 12, and Noah Everatt added 10. Izard County improves to 19-5 on the season and 11-3 in conference play.
Izard County’s junior girls clinched the 1A-2 conference championship topping Norfork 38-24. The Junior Lady Cougars were led by Quinn Johnson with 20 points, and Makenzie Yancey chipped in 13. Izard County went unbeaten in seven league games this year.
Flippin’s girls had a short but tough road trip, as they lost to Yellville-Summit 53-47. Kinley Morris was the Lady Panthers’ top scorer with 25 points, and Kambree Gibson had 16.
