CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) – Prosecutors in southeastern Missouri have charged a man and woman with abandonment of a corpse, saying the pair dumped the body of a woman who died from a drug overdose.
Television station KFVS reports that Cape Girardeau police found the body in a wooded area near a parking lot Monday morning. Officials identified the body as that of 27-year-old Kadesia Harris of Cape Girardeau. An investigation led police to a Cape Girardeau home where they arrested 62-year-old Janice Leimbach and 22-year-old Matthew Morris.
Prosecutors say evidence showed Harris died inside the home of a drug overdose, and that Morris and Leimbach drover her body to a tree line near a creek, where they dumped her.
