
Izard and Stone counties have been placed under an ice storm warning by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Little Rock.
The warning covers most of northeast Arkansas, with the NWS advising potential ice accumulations in the warned area could be from a quarter to half an inch. Current forecasts prediction from a tenth to two tenths of ice accumulation in Baxter and Marion counties.
National Weather Service meteorologist Chris Buannano explains the addition of Izard and Stone counties to the warned area.

The ice storm warning also includes Sharp, Randolph, Independence, Lawrence, Cleburne, Jackson, White and Woodruff counties. Significant amounts of ice accumulation will make travel dangerous or impossible and travel is strongly discouraged.
