FESTUS, Mo. (AP) – A 10-year-old eastern Missouri boy is being treated for injuries after someone fired shots through his bedroom window as he was sleeping.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the shooting happened about 12:10 a.m. Thursday in the Jefferson County town of Festus. Police Chief Tim Lewis said three shots were fired through the childs bedroom window.
One of the bullets struck two of the child’s fingers. The injury is not believed to be life-threatening.
A neighbor’s doorbell security camera captured an image of a man walking in the area about the time of the shooting. No arrests have been made but Lewis called that man a “possible suspect.”
