Missouri’s Phase 2 of the COVID-19 vaccination plan opens Monday, and the Ozark County Health Department (OCHD) is taking appointments for a first-dose Moderna vaccination clinic to be held April 6 . The clinic will be held at the OCHD office, located on Third Street in Gainesville.

To make an appointment, call the OCHD at (417) 679-3334. OCHD Administrator Rhonda Suter says because this is a locally managed vaccination event, appointments cannot be made on the state’s navigator website.

Phase 2 of the COVID-19 vaccination plan includes those in the commercial facilities sector, critical manufacturing, construction, defense industrial base, financial services, food and agriculture Sector 2, government and disproportionately affected populations, including those who are homeless.

The activation means OCHD’s April 6 vaccination clinic will be open to all residents in the state’s Phase 1A, Phase 1B-Tiers 1, 2 and 3, and Phase 2 categories. To see the complete listings in each of Missouri’s vaccination phases, visit covidvaccine.mo.gov.

Gov. Mike Parson announced earlier Phase 3 will be activated on April 9, making all Missouri adults eligible to receive the vaccine.

Suter tells the Ozark County Times her office is already working on a date for another mass vaccination clinic after the April 6 event.
