Saturday baseball results include MH beating 2 Missouri schools; 2 pitchers combine for no-hitter

The Mountain Home High School baseball team came away with wins over a pair of Missouri schools Saturday at McClain Park.
The day began with Jacob Czanstkowski and Reed Ellison combining for a five-inning no-hitter as the Bombers shut out Cassville 14-0. Czanstkowski pitched the first four innings, struck out four batters and gave up one walk. Ellison took the mound for the fifth, retired the Wildcats in order and recorded a strikeout. Reece Ducker led Mountain Home by going three-for-three, scoring a run and driving in four more; Trent Jordan was two-for-three with a walk, three runs and an RBI; Bryce McKay went two-for-four and scored twice; and Dawson Taber went one-for-two with two walks, two runs and two RBIs.
The Bombers overcame an early start from West Plains in the second game and picked up an 8-4 victory. Jordan was Mountain Home’s starting pitcher with 1 2/3 innings, a strikeout, four hits, three walks and four earned runs. Isaac House pitched the next 3 1/3 innings, struck out five batters and gave up a hit and two walks, and Ellison took the last two innings with one hit. Offensively for the Bombers, Logan Walker went three-for-three with a walk, a run and three RBIs; Will Beckham was three-for-four with two runs; and McKay went two-for-four, scored three runs and drove in two more.

Elsewhere, Flippin was able to run the table in conference play as they doubled up Yellville-Summit 14-7. Philip Pasthing picked up the win after striking out six batters. Dale Smyser was three-for-three. The Bobcats finish at 10-0 in the 2A-1, and they’ll travel to Ash Flat on Monday to play Highland.
