Yellville-Summit sweeps district track meet, high point awards

Three local high schools sent their track teams to Eureka Springs for the 2A-1 District Meet. Yellville-Summit was able to sweep both team championships.

On the girls’ side, Flippin finished second and Cotter was third. Kambree Gibson represented the Lady Panthers as the high point winner. Morgan Zick of Cotter won the 100-meter hurdles, and Yellville-Summit’s Kinley Morris ended up second. Madi Hopson of Flippin won the 800-meter run, teammate Kiley Johnson took second place, and Kadence Doshier of Yellville-Summit finished third. Flippin’s Amanda Thompson won the 3200-meter run, and for Yellville-Summit, Amie Walker-Dooley was second, Erica Pyle ended up fourth, and Kyleigh Still took fifth place. Kaylee Martin of Yellville-Summit won the 400-meter dash, and Cotter’s Candace Lambert finished second. Yellville-Summit’s Gibson and Abby Methvin were first and second respectively in the 100-meter dash, Zick ended up third, Flippin’s Emma Mears took fourth place, and Lambert rounded out the top five. Gibson also won the 300-meter hurdles followed by teammate K.J. Moore, Zick finished third, and Morris was fifth. Moore and Morris ended up first and second respectively for Yellville-Summit in the high jump, Zick took third place, and Martin finished fourth. Jordan Senn of Yellville-Summit won the shot put, Flippin’s Hannah Penn was second, and Yellville-Summit’s Avery Dearmore and Emily Pena ended up third and fourth respectively. In the 200-meter dash, Yellville-Summit’s Moore, Gibson and Jacey Davenport were first through third, and Flippin’s Mears and Sari Patzen were fourth and fifth. Yellville-Summit’s Gibson, Methvin, Davenport and Morris were first through fourth in the triple jump, and Johnson of Flippin took fifth place. It was all Yellville-Summit in the pole vault as Kiara Doshier won, Pyle finished second, Kadence Doshier was third, and Morris ended up fourth. Also for Yellville-Summit, Gibson won the long jump, Davenport took second place, Methvin finished third, and Moore was fourth. Yellville-Summit also had a good showing in the discus as Janet Ridley took the win, Dearmore ended up second, and Senn was fifth. In the 1600-meter run, Johnson of Flippin was second, and third through fifth were Kiara Dosher, Pyle and Still of Yellville-Summit. Flippin won the 4×800-meter relay, and Yellville-Summit finished second. The Lady Panthers won the 4×400-meter relay, and Flippin was third. Yellville-Summit also won the 4×200-meter and 4×100-meter relays.

As Yellville-Summit dominated the boys’ results, Flippin was third, and Cotter finished ninth. The Panthers’ Holiday Deroshier was the high point winner. Flippin’s Dominic Sellers and Kade Brown were first and second in the 800-meter run, and Yellville-Summit’s Jaxton Decker, Robert Howell and Logan McVay ended up third through fifth. Javen Keymer of Yellville-Summit won the 400-meter dash, Flippin’s Sawyer Williamson and Pepe Galvan were second and fourth respectively, and Briten Roberts of Yellville-Summit took fifth place. Deroshier won the 110-meter hurdles, Raymond Potter of Flippin finished second, and Yellville-Summit’s Caiden Curtis was third. Yellville-Summit’s Deroshier, Kayden Geier, Tristen Teel and Keymer ended up first through fourth in the 200-meter dash, and Corbin Phillips of Flippin took fifth place. Also for the Panthers, Tyler Barrett won the shot put, Kirk Knapp finished second, and A.J. Jones was third. Yellville-Summit was also well-represented in the triple jump as Curtis got the win, Deroshier ended up second, Teel took third place, and Aaron Robinson finished fourth. Barrett won the discus, and fellow Panthers Knapp, Jones and T.J. Raimondi were second through fourth. Also for Yellville-Summit, Ben Cantrall won the 100-meter dash, Teel ended up second, Geier took fourth place, and Connor Crain rounded out the top five. In the 1600-meter run, McVay finished second, and Sellers was fourth. Mcvay also ended up second in the 3200-meter run, and Flippin’s Aidan Browne ended up fourth. Yellville-Summit’s Deroshier, Curtis and Landen Keiter were second through fourth in the 300-meter hurdles, and Browne represented Flippin in fifth place. Also for Yellville-Summit, Deroshier took second place in the high jump, Roberts finished third, and Geier was fifth. Roberts also ended up second in the long jump with teammates Deroshier and Teel at fourth and fifth. Yellville-Summit also won the 4×200-meter relay, and Flippin took third place. Yellville-Summit and Flippin finished second and third respectively in the 4×100-meter, 4×400-meter and 4×800-meter relays.
