UPDATE: Windstream has updated the Twin Lakes Area that repairs have yet to begin on a cut line in the Pyatt area. A company spokesperson says repair personnel do not have access to the site of the damage because of flooding at Crooked Creek. A technician is monitoring the situation and repairs will begin as soon as possible.
EARLIER STORY: Windstream is confirming that a fiber cable has been cut, apparently causing multiple telephone outages and problems across the area. Telephone service, fax service, calls from cell phones to land lines and calls from land lines to cell phones will have issues until the cable is repaired.
Work crews have been dispatched to Pyatt to make repairs to the cable, Windstream reports, but are having difficulty reaching the site due to Crooked Creek being flooded from the overnight rainfall.
There is no estimated time for repairs, Windstream said.
Yelcot’s internet service is reported to be working and no internet issues should be associated with the outage.
Phone outages have been reported at both Baxter Regional Medical Center and its clinics as well as at the office and studio here at KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot.
This story will be updated once service is restored.
