Overnight storms bring heavy rain, power outages; no damage reported

Monday night’s storm activity brought heavy rainfall to the Twin Lakes Area. No damage has been reported, but a portion of area residents are experiencing a power outage Tuesday morning.

As of 11:20 a.m., North Arkansas Electric Cooperative reported six members served by the Salem office and 28 for the Ash Flat office were without power. Entergy Arkansas reported outages for four customers in Stone County and one in Boone County.

The sheriff’s offices in Baxter, Marion and Ozark counties did not report any flooded roads, but there is flooding to portions of three area highways. The Missouri Department of Transportation’s traveler information map shows Missouri Route T is closed in the Mammoth area of Ozark County, Missouri Highway 142 is closed in the area of Bennetts River in Howell County, and Missouri Route K is closed in an area south of Spring Creek in Howell County.

At KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot, 1.32 inches of rain have fallen since 7 a.m. Monday. We’ve had a three-day total of 1.45 inches.
