Regional baseball, softball tournaments end Saturday

Baseball and softball make up the local Saturday schedule as regional tournaments wrap up in Arkansas.

The Class 2A West Regional Softball Tournament will come to an end at Keller Park in Mountain Home. Cotter and Flippin will play for third place at noon, and Mansfield face Acorn for the title at 2:30.

Two local softball teams will play their last games in the Class 2A Central Regional Tournament at Tuckerman. Salem meets Quitman for third place at noon, and Melbourne takes on the host Lady Bulldogs for the championship at 2:30.

Mammoth Spring will compete in the championship game of the Class 1A Region 2 Tournament at Izard County High School in Brockwell. The Lady Bears play Greers Ferry West Side at 2:30.

Valley Springs will take part in the third place game of the Class 3A Region 1 Tournament at the Equity Bank Sports Complex in Harrison. The Lady Tigers will be paired with Hackett at noon.

Jasper will play for third place in the Class 1A Region 1 Tournament at Scranton. The Lady Pirates meet Mulberry at noon.

The Class 2A West Regional Baseball Tournament will end at Lester White Field at Cooper Park in Mountain Home. Flippin and Yellville-Summit will compete for third place at noon, and Mountainburg will face Mansfield for the championship at 2:30.

Three local teams will finish action in the Class 1A Region 2 Tournament at Izard County High School in Brockwell. Mammoth Spring takes on Greers Ferry West Side for third place at noon, and the championship game will feature Viola and Izard County at 2:30.

Salem will play for third place in the Class 2A Central Regional Tournament at Tuckerman. The Greyhounds will be matched up with Bigelow at noon.

Harrison will be in front of the home crowd as they play for the championship of the Class 4A North Regional Tournament at the Equity Bank Sports Complex. The Goblins take on Farmington at 2:30.
