Six area residents have received appointments from Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson. Among the appointments is Debroah Knox of Mountain Home being reappointed to the State Library Board. Her appointment expires Oct. 18, 2027.
Two residents of Izard County received appointments. Tommy Wren of Violet Hill is replacing Ed Mabry on the Arkansas Livestock and Poultry Commission. His appointment expires Jan. 14, 2028. Bennie Cooper of Melbourne has been reappointed to the Board of Trustees of Ozarka College. His term ends July 1, 2027.
Jeff Mays of Marshall has been appointed to the Searcy County Quorum Court as Justice of the Peace for District 6. He replaces Steve McCallister with his term expiring Dec. 31, 2022.
Two Harrison residents received appointments. Dr. Jerry Cash has been appointed to the Arkansas Higher Education Coordinating Board to replace Chris Gilliam. His appointment expires May 1, 2026. Vickie Burlsworth has been reappointed to the Arkansas Board of Dispensing Opticians with her appointment expiring June 30, 2023.
