Two area high school baseball teams played their state tournament openers Tuesday in Missouri.
Hollister won its sectional game in the Class 4 State Tournament on its home field. The Tigers doubled up Seneca 4-2. Hollister improves to 24-5 on the season, and they’ll face Springfield Catholic in Thursday’s quarterfinals.
Forsyth was one and done in the Class 3 State Tournament. The Panthers went on the road and fell to Lynn 10-4. Forsyth’s year ends with a record of 13-13.
