Two area high school baseball teams continued state tournament play Friday in Missouri.
Gainesville watched its season come to an end in the Class 2 State Tournament. After a pair of rainouts, the Bulldogs resumed their game at Forsyth and fell to Marionville 2-0. Gainesville’s final record is 20-9.
Hollister was able to advance to the semifinals in Class 4. After trailing 4-1, the Tigers came back and edged out Springfield Catholic 6-5 at Ozark. Hollister improves to 25-5 on the year, and they’ll return to US Baseball Park on Wednesday to meet Blair Oaks.
